Ireri Topete

Ireri Topete is one of the most recognized local artists, has worked in painting and printmaking mainly and has obtained various awards and international recognition for her work. She is currently a Fonca fellow by artistic trajectory, has exhibited in the country and abroad. Her work has been in museums, galleries, embassies and public spaces in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Guanajuato and outside the country in Serbia, United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Australia. She is a teacher at the municipal printmaking workshop La Raya where she has conducted residencies and courses with renowned international artists such as Nunik Sauret. Ireri is a member of the newly opened Cultural Projects Office OPC in Puerto Vallarta.

Fernando Sánchez

Fernando Sánchez is a talented artist with an innate gift that has allowed him to successfully work in painting, printmaking and ceramics, though he is also a great chef. He has been a Fonca fellow as a young creator. He was a winner of the Sothebys Miró scholarship in printmaking from the foundation in Palma de Mallorca in 1999, and has represented the country in exhibitions in different museums, galleries and public spaces in Milwaukee, Highland Park, in New York, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Canaries, Lisbon, and in various cities of the country among which stand out Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Mérida and Puerto Vallarta. Sánchez is founder of El Pulpo Rojo printmaking workshop and also a member of the Cultural Projects Office OPC of Puerto Vallarta.

Sergio Lugo

Sergio Lugo graduated from the Fine Arts program at the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) and is a professor at the CUC campus local of the UdeG. Lugo is a winner of important state awards and a prolific artist who equally works in mixed techniques with paper as collage, as well as with two-handed works to exercise both sides of the brain. His work is varied and colorful, although sometimes it can reflect a complex state of inner reality harassed by multiple and strange imaginary beings. He likes to handle large format and triptychs.

Petru Voichescu

Petru Voichescu. Born in Romania and residing between Montreal and Puerto Vallarta, this graphic artist has come to enrich the local scene in the field of printmaking with his spectacular monotypes. He produces his work mainly in the Workshop La Raya and the Workshop La Marea directed by Marcela Bernal, under the mentorship of the renowned printer Sergio Gutierrez, better known as El Tocayo. Petru exhibits permanently in galleries in Montreal and Puerto Vallarta at Galeria Ambos. His work is part of the collection of the Peter Gray Museum of the CUC at the local Campus of the UdeG.

Pedro Tello

Pedro Tello. Self-taught artist from El Mosco in the Jalisco mountains, but based in Puerto Vallarta for more than 35 years. Tello has successfully worked in painting, printmaking, photography and sculpture. To the amazement of many, he documented with photographs the existence of otters in the Cuale River. His work Origin and Destiny is part of the sculptural corridor of El Malecón and has recently developed a new technique of engraving on revealed photographic paper, to make traces with a sharp chisel and give nuances ranging from black, ochre, gold and vermillion to white to color the Tellographies as he has named them. Tello sets up under the Bridge of Cuale Island every afternoon from 4 to 9 pm.

Yésika Félix

Yésika Félix. Graduated from the prestigious San Carlos Academy in Mexico City, Yésika has dedicated herself more to photography and recently to printmaking. Her work is part of the collection of the Museum of the Americas in Denver. From the textures of tree trunks to the scars of the earth, Yésika has captured the micro and macro cosmos from the lens. Her work has been seen in many countries including the United States, Canada and Portugal. She directs the Photography Workshop of the Cuale and is an arts teacher at the Regional High School of Puerto Vallarta. She is part of the La Malagua group and an enthusiastic promoter of photography as a means of expression among young people.
